“It seemed sensible to combine a trip to visit family in Yorkshire with a pre-season [17th March] social event for one of the clubs I belong to up there, Kilnsey Angling Club. I offered to hold a casting clinic for interested parties. The membership was canvassed, several common topics were requested and on the day 18 members and guests attended. In nearly three hours I rehearsed simple Static Roll Casting, hauling, dealing with wind and the 5E’s.” As the river was still running off we were restricted to an adjacent but gloriously flat pasture that served us well for the ‘grass work’.

It’s good to be made to think about what you normally do automatically without thinking and shown how to improve. You made it look all so easy!
